Guests arrived by boat, one after the other, into a harbour already scored — a trio on the dock, the melody moving with the light. The company's musicians had traveled a day early to rehearse for the room they had never played.

A string quintet at the water's edge; a nine-piece on the upper terrace by dusk. Every arrangement written for the acoustics of stone, water, and open sky.

A quieter set. A cellist and a vocalist, at the far end of a long table set for forty-two. The last song of the weekend was the first song of the couple.
