A New York music company
built by artists.
Music belongs wherever people gather. Every celebration has its own rhythm. Our job is to listen first, then compose the experience around it.
Music at Home
Music was part of Gordon's life long before it became his profession. It was there in his childhood, in the records that were played, the instruments within reach and the musicians around him.
Years later, Gordon and Donnamarie each brought careers in the arts into their own family life, filling the house with music, art and the people who made both. Records were played, instruments were always within reach, rehearsals and creative work were part of everyday life, and each of their children found their own way into the arts.
It was less a lesson than an environment — one that would eventually shape the company they built together.
West 4th Street
Long before Gordon Dukes Music Company, Gordon, his brother and friends were regular performers on the corner of West 4th Street in Greenwich Village. Weekend after weekend, crowds gathered until the sidewalks filled with people stopping to listen. It was an early chapter in Gordon's musical journey and reinforced a belief that continues to guide our company today.
A public stage deserves the artistry, preparation and musicianship as any concert hall or ballroom. We have always believed that someone walking through a neighborhood park deserves quality live performance just as someone attending a private celebration. Great music has the power to stop people in their tracks, bring communities together and transform an ordinary afternoon into an unforgettable experience.
Built on Music
The calls kept coming, and eventually the work outgrew one musician.
What began with Gordon directing bands and arranging music became Gordon Dukes Music Company — a company built around thoughtful musical direction, carefully assembled ensembles, and performances designed for a specific room, audience, and occasion.
Alongside the music, Donnamarie shaped the guest experience, creative partnerships, and long-term vision of the company, helping grow it beyond performances into a broader creative platform that continues to champion live music.
Today, Gordon Dukes Music Company brings together musicians, artists, producers, and collaborators who share one standard: exceptional preparation, extraordinary musicianship, and genuine hospitality.

The Company Standard
Every audience deserves complete attention. Every performance deserves thoughtful preparation. Every occasion deserves music that feels personal, intentional and unforgettable.
Four decades of recording, touring, arranging and directing live performance have produced a consistent way of working: arrangements developed for the performance, ensembles assembled for the night, rehearsal before arrival, and hospitality that treats a guest as a guest — not an audience.
Behind Every Performance
Every unforgettable performance begins long before the first guest arrives.
Before the lights, the applause and the packed dance floor are rehearsals, arrangements, production meetings, sound checks and hundreds of thoughtful decisions. These photographs reveal the people, preparation and musicianship that turn live music into an experience no one forgets.

The Music Continues
Today, Gordon Dukes Music Company brings together live performance, musical direction, original music and creative collaboration. Our work extends across private celebrations, public stages, recording, artist development and destinations — with live music at the center.
